Counselling and Psychotherapy

PURE POTENTIAL PSYCHOLOGY - SUPPORTING EMOTIONAL AND PHYSICAL WELLNESS

As human beings we all have basic physical and emotional needs such as the need for attention, love, connection, control, security and self esteem.

To meet these needs, nature has given us resources, such as memory, imagination, problem solving abilities, self awareness and thinking styles. It is these needs and resources together, which are built into our biology, that make up the 'human givens'.

I practice from the Human Givens psychotherapeutic approach and the Cognitive Behavioural Therapy model. Rather then delving into past hurts and misery, these approachs deal with mental and emotional distress in the here and now, offering effective and practical help.

Therapy can help to:

- reduce and manage anxiety
- break the cycle of depression
- improve sleep problems
- overcome phobias
- deal effectively with panic attacks
- alleviate emotional distress
- manage obsessive compulsive disorders
- resolve trauma
- manage anger
- stop addictive behaviour
- relieve medical conditions
- harmonise relationships
- help you feel in control of your life and able to deal with
your challenges in a healthy and positive way.
